A popular destination for visitors, this place exhibits and sells works by 40 kilns and pottery artists and sells goody bags and products from Kamado-san, Nagatanien’s popular Iga Ware rice cooker. The family’s more than 200-year-old mansion and gardens are also open to the public for exhibitions of works and hospitality through Nodate (open-air tea ceremony). The event is a great success every year, with popular items available at great prices.

Matsuo Basho & Yokomitsu Riichi Walking Event
Enjoy taking a walk around the area as you visit various historical spots. A storyteller will also accompany you throughout the journey. One stop on the course is Yono Park, where you can see the dazzling sight of 15,000 beautiful azaleas.

Chikata Cave Walking
To spread legend of Chikata Cave, this event takes participants on a walk through the forest to Chikata Cave and throw Chikata rice cakes. After walking around the vicinity of Chikata Cave, enjoy an easy-to-understand picture-story about The Legend of Chikata held at the community center.
