Iga is roughly in the center of the Japanese islands.
It is located just between the cities of Osaka and Nagoya and is approximately a 90 minute drive from the Kansai International Airport. It is also about a 110 minute drive from the Chubu Centrair International Airport.
It has also flourished as a cultural crossroad since ancient times, with the Kiyomizu-dera and Kinkaku-ji temples in Kyoto, the Ise Grand Shrine in Ise, and Kashikojhima Island, where the Ise-Shima Summit has previously been held.
The Iga-Ueno Tourist Association has established the Iga-Ueno Tourist Information Center inside the Danjiri Kaikan (attached to the Iga-Ueno Local Products Shop). The center mainly provides information on sightseeing in the Ueno area, as well as pamphlets and membership information so you can stay up-to-date with the latest news.
