The Ao area, which thrived as a post town, is a place where many of the old signboards and streetlamps from the era still remain. Events such as rice cake throwing and a walk along the Hase Kaido Road are held, as well as sales of locally produced products and more.

Old and new Hina dolls can be seen at townhouses and shops around the Ueno Honmachi-dori area. At the Akai and Irimajiri family residences, Hina dolls made of glass and even ones made with traditional crafts such as Iga Ware and Iga Kumihimo are on display. There are also lunch menus and sweets with themes based on the Hina Doll Festival, which makes these shops a great place to take a break when walking around the town.
