Ninja Costume Rental

Dress up as a ninja and explore Iga—the city of ninja!
Costume rentals are available at various shops and hotels in the area. Some places even offer rare, special designs.

Basho Haiku Monument

Haiku monuments engraved with the poetry of Matsuo Basho, one of Japan's most celebrated haiku poets, can be found throughout the city—including the historic castle town area.

Castle Town Sweets Trail

Stroll through the historic castle town and enjoy traditional Japanese sweets from long-established confectionery shops.
A coupon sheet with 5 coupons (¥700) allows you to exchange each coupon for a specialty sweet at participating shops.

Iga Ninja Dojo

Scattered throughout the castle town, the Iga Ninja Dojos let you experience some ninja training.
Based on your performance, you will be certified as Jōnin (Master Ninja), Chūnin (Intermediate Ninja), or Genin (Apprentice Ninja).
Once you get your Iga Ninja Dojo Pass , you can visit the dojos in any order you like and enjoy the journey of becoming a true ninja!

Iga Ueno Storytellers’ Association

Founded in 1994, the Iga Ueno Storytellers’ Association is a volunteer guide group dedicated to showcasing the charms of Iga.
With its abundance of historical attractions—including ninja heritage, the legacy of poet Matsuo Bashō, and much more—the city comes alive as guides share stories enriched with cultural background and local history.
Hearing these unique insights from locals is sure to make your visit even more engaging and memorable.
